Turtle Release!!!
Goodbye Kasey and Coombsie!!!
Where: Sandy Neck Gatehouse
When: Monday June 6th, 2016 @ 4:30 PM
(rain date June 16th)
Dear Families,
It is time for us to release our two baby turtles, Kasey and Coombsie, back into their wild habitat!! Please consider joining us for this special event. After the release, feel free to stay for a swim or bring your own picnic, weather permitting! All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Please park in the main parking lot at Sandy Neck Beach and walk down to the gatehouse. At 4:30 PM, a Natural Resource Officer will give a brief background of our Diamondback Terrapin Head Start Program. Then we will walk everyone
down the marsh trail to the site where we will then release the terrapins back into the wild! (this is about a 10 minute walk in the sand)
Hope to see you there!!!
