SHARK TANK WINNERS!

Here are the winners from our Technology Mash-Up Challenge! The FIRST AND SECOND GRADE inventors engineered a new technology by combining two technologies that already exist. Our ideas and designs came out AMAZINGLY!!!!

Testing our Designs!

Our kindergarten teams finished creating their playgrounds that were designed with SUNNY and SHADY places for kids to play in and on. We brought them outside to test them out! Our designs were successful and we made a fun place to play for both HOT HARRY and COOL CARL! Check out our models at the front entrance of the school the next time you come in!!! We did awesome on our first DESIGN CHALLENGE!!

Kindergarten Engineers

We are working in the CREATE stage of our Design Challenge. Each team worked together to design one playground to provide SHADY and SUNNY places for kids to play! They presented their designs to the rest of the class and received feedback. Next, we will build our models! 




 

Kindergarteners Design a Playground for HOT HARRY and COOL CARL!

 


 

 Dear Kindergarten Families,

    We are wrapping up our SUN unit in STEM Special and I am hoping
you may have some materials you could send in for our Playground Design
Challenge. If you do, please send in any materials to your child’s
homeroom teacher before your child’s next STEM special. We will be using
the materials for children to choose to create a model that represents sun
and shade on a playground.
Possible Donations:
Paper towel tubes
Legos/building blocks/lincoln logs
fabric/cloth...especially light colors
small dolls/action figures to place on playground
modeling clay
pipe cleaners
cereal boxes
